Coping With Defeat

I really thought I was at peace with whatever the outcome of the election was going to be.  I thought that whatever happened I would be unaffected by it.  I would be mildly satisfied with a Romney win, and shake an Obama win off with a shrug.  Today I feel like the degenerate gambler who, after losing a hand with a lot of chips riding on it, says to himself, oh, gee, now I’m going to have to play for a lot longer to win back all my…hey…where are all my chips?  I was all in and I didn’t even realize that I had done it!  Last night I was very despondent.  Romney’s defeat hit me hard.  Last night I wept bitterly for my country.

My wife posted a major downer on Teresamerica.  I am reblogging it here, but that isn’t the end of it.  I also want to offer a way past the emotional pain and the disappointment, so keep reading past Teresa’s article.

Reblogged from Teresamerica:

Citizens Voted for the Death of America

I posted this on Facebook and thought I would share.

Americans voted for the death of America last night. They voted for malaise. America is screwed. Americans are so gullible to believe Obama’s lies. It is obvious that a majority of Americans are clueless about America’s founding, her history and want this country to topple like Rome did, and be overcome with debt like Greece. The Left’s Communist infiltration of America has worked. The Left’s gradual indoctrination of America has put voters in a trance oblivious to reality stuck in their bubbles in their own alternative realities, believing what they want to believe based on emotions, wanting false rights, believing the state has a right to coerce people to abandon their faith and conscience rights. The media has been complicit in this with having committed journalistic malpractice constantly covering up for Obama & Co in order to get their guy re-elected.

June 28, 2012, the day the Supreme Court upheld Obamacare, was the day America died.  Last night we buried Her.

To give you an idea how depressed I was this morning, – I helped compose that final line of Teresa’s post.   If anyone feels the way I did, I have something for you that might help you feel better and give you the strength to cope with four mote years of BHO.  I have been researching an practicing energy medicine and energy psychology techniques for the last couple of years.  They are weird and flakey seeming, but I am fascinated by them because, as bizarre as they are, they work!

I am a practitioner of EFT, Emotional Freedom Techniques.   EFT is a technique that involves speaking affirmative statements while tapping your fingertips on acupressure points and focusing on a problem or area that you want to change, whether it be an emotional distress, a trauma, a phobia, or a physical pain.  EFT brings rapid and lasting relief for many problems and issues that you would never in a million years think that tapping on yourself would help.   I have mentioned EFT on this blog before, and I will be discussing this stuff more in the near future.  For now, I want to share a youtube video put out by Robert G. Smith, an EFT practitioner whose innovative streamlining of the acupressure tapping protocol he has dubbed “Faster EFT”.   In this video, Robert helps a guy who was very upset about Obama.  I think he was as emotionally invested in McCain’s bid for the presidency as I was (without realizing it) in Romney’s.  When I first saw this video, I laughed.  I found it amusing.  Not because tapping wouldn’t work.  I know for a fact it does.  I have helped many people with many problems, some of them quite serious, with EFT.  I’ll go over that in more detail in a future post (or series of them).  Let it suffice to say for now that I have used EFT to help friends, family, and colleagues at work with knee pain, back pain, laryngitis, mild fears, major  phobic reactions, and I helped a man with Parkinson’s dramatically improve his posture from a very pronounced stoop to much less of one.  So it wasn’t the tapping that made me laugh, strange as it admittedly looks.  I know that it works, so that isn’t what I found to be silly at  the time.  What made me laugh was that anyone could be so emotionally affected by the outcome of an election.  I am not laughing today.   Instead, today, I am posting the video.  Tap along if you need it.  Be surprised when it helps, and leave a comment.
